A Strong 3rd quarter lifts saints to victory

The Sienna Heights Saints women’s basketball team travelled to Madonna University boasting a 7 game win streak. Led by Olivia Delong’s 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks performance the Saints won their 8th game in a row going away 76-49. The Saints led by 10 after a strong 1st quarter but Madonna tried to keep it close by outscoring Sienna Heights by two in the second quarter but still trailed by 8 points at the half. Delong and Jakarri Alven scored 10 and 8 points respectively in the pivotal 3rd quarter as the Saints outscored the Crusaders 22-6 in the period to pull away. Madonna was led by Kayiona Willis with 12 points while freshman Dekota Smith added 10 points and 2 steals. Sienna Heights improves to 8-2 overall (5-1) WHAC while Madonna falls to 4-4 (2-3).
