23rd Ranked rockets win their regular season finale 32-17 over C. Michigan

The 23rd ranked Toledo Rockets visited Central Michigan’s Kelly/Shorts stadium for the final regular season game of the season boasting a ten-game winning streak. On a sunny but brisk Friday afternoon it took the Rockets a quarter to warm up their offense. After a scoreless first quarter Toledo’s offense started to click scoring a 10 points in the final minutes of the 1st half with a Jaden Dottin 23yd reception from Daquan on a 70yd drive and a Luke Pawlak field goal.

In the second half the Rockets run game ramped up being led by junior Peny Boone (186yds,2tds) and Jaquaz Stuart (59yds,1td). Toledo’s defense held tight until late in the fourth quarter where they conceded two touchdowns by CMU’s Jase Baur, one a 7yd run and the other being a 7yd pass to Thomas Pannunzio. Baur, had a solid outing for the Chippewas going 15 of 26 for 182 & a score.  The Rockets held CMU to 104 rushing yards and 231 passing yards with 49 of them coming on a faked punt, they also sacked Baur four times. The Rockets defense was led by Dallas Gant’s 12 tackles and Judge Culpepper’s 2.5 sacks in the 32-17 victory.

Next up for 23rd ranked Toledo (11-1, 8-0 MAC) is the MAC Championship versus Miami (Ohio) on Dec 2nd, Central Michigan finishes their season 5-7 overall and 3-5 MAC.
