Acuff’s hot hand leads Eastern Michigan to victory

Tyson Acuff’s 22 first half points helped Eastern Michigan take a nine-point lead into the break 33-24, while his season high total of 34 points (10 boards) led the Eagles to the win 69-60 over Bowling Green. Eastern’s defense held Bowling Green to 34.4% shooting and their leading scorer Marcus Hill to 19 points on 6-20 shooting from the field. Bowling Green tried to stay in the game but couldn’t get any closer than 4 points 64-60 late in the second half and Eastern were able to secure the victory by hitting five free throws down the stretch. With the win Eastern Michigan moves to 3-9 in MAC play and 10-15 overall while Bowling Green in 16-9 overall and 7-5 in conference.
