Ball State wins the MAC women’s title

The top seeded Ball State Cardinals defeated the Toledo Rockets 65-58 to earn the Mid American Conferences automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. Alex Richard scored 24 or her 28 points in the second half as the Cardinals outscored the Rockets 44-34 in the second half after trailing by three points at halftime. Kendall Carruthers led Toledo with 17 points but the Rockets couldn’t overcome an early 4th quarter 11-2 Cardinal run as they fell in the final.
