Bearcats regain the victory bell

The Cincinnati Bearcats (2-1) used a potent run game and the strong leg of Nathan Hawks (55 & 50yd field goals) to defeat the host Miami Redhawks (0-2) 27-16 on the road. Bearcat senior running back Corey Kiner led all rushers with 126 yards and added a one-yard touchdown run for good measure. Junior Evan Pryor aided in the cause with 76 yards on 3 carries including an electrifying 65-yard jaunt in the fourth quarter. Defensively Cincinnati held Miami to 24 yards on the ground at 1.1 an attempt.

Miami’s Bret Gabbert threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns but was stopped late in the game incompleting a 4th down pass to the end zone as the Redhawk rally came up short. Receiver Cade McDonald had a career day for the for Miami with 135 yards including a 51 yard catch late that setup an opportunity for their attempted score.
