Findlay dominates Lake Erie 42-6

The Findlay Oilers won their Great Midwest and home opener over Lake Erie 42-6. The Oiler defense had a solid day holding the visiting Storm to 142 total yards and just 18 of those were on the ground. Christian Stokes led the defensive charge with an interception and 8 tackles. Offensively the Oilers scored on a three play first drive ending in a Redd Douglas touchdown reception and never looked back. Quarterback Mathew Rueve threw for 227 yard with 4 touchdowns and a single interception. On the ground Makya Mathews was a workhorse carrying the ball 27 times for 92 yards with 2 scores. Cam Childers led the receivers with 5 catches for 66 yards and a TD. Lake Erie was topped by quarterback Alec Lewis who went 16-27 for 123 yards and an interception. With this win the Oilers move to 3-0 (1-0) on the season while Lake Erie drops to 1-2 (0-1).
