Bobcats win the MAC title in dominant fashion

The Ohio Bobcats won their first Mid American Conference title in over 50 years, defeating the outmatched Miami Redhawks 38-3. Miami opened the scoring on an eleven play 64-yard drive that culminated in a Dom Dzioban 29-yard field goal. Ohio’s powerful duo of quarterback Parker Navarro (20 completions for 235 yards & 2 TDs, also 73 yards rushing with 2 TDs) and running back Anthony Tyus III (27 carries for 151 yards & 1 TD) went over, around and through the Redhawks on a day that Ohio could do no wrong. Ohio scored on their first five possessions never allowing Miami to catch their breath with drives of 75,82,75,75 and 31 yards. Defensively the Bobcats led by Blake Leake’s 8 tackles held the Redhawks to 189 total yards while their offense tallied 467. Miami’s Bret Gabbert threw for 127 yards as the Redhawks fell to 8-5 and will conclude their season facing Colorado State (8-4) in the Snoop Dogg Arizona bowl on 12/28. Ohio improves to 10-3 (3 straight 10 win seasons) moves on to face Jacksonville State (9-4) in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl on 12/20.
