Toledo opens the 2024 season hosting Duquesne

8/26/24

The Rockets home opener looks to ease the minds of the Toledo faithful as they welcome Duquesne to Glass Bowl Stadium. Fresh off an 11-3 season with an appearance in the Arizona bowl the Rockets were hit with multiple transfer portal departures. This game will showcase what should be another successful season as Toledo were picked to finish second in the MAC by the league’s coaches and national publications such as Athlon Sports. Questions to be answered are can Tucker Gleason have a solid season as the starting quarterback? Also will Jacquez Stuart show the explosiveness that he’s capable out of the backfield. The Rockets defense is solid being led by Darius Alexander up front. Toledo should have no trouble dealing with a Dukes team that won the Northeast Conference and fell to Youngstown State in the FCS playoffs, even with the return of quarterback Darius Perrantes and the backfield duo of Taj Butts & JaMario Clements (combined 1026yds & 6 tds rushing).
