Top seed Toledo ousted in the first round

3/14/24 Cleveland, Ohio

A cold shooting game from the field (39.3%) coupled with a horrendous time at the free throw line (10-21) spelled trouble and ultimately defeat for Toledo. Rebounding from last Friday’s loss at Toledo, Kent State led by a strong outing from junior VonCameron Davis with 26 points and 12 rebounds hammered the Rockets which had no answer for him on the inside. He was aided in this monumental upset by Jalen Sullenger and Giovanni Santiago with 14 and 12 points respectively. Dante Maddox Jr. led Toledo with 19 points but the regular season Mid American Conference champs could never get on track. First team All MAC performer Ra’Heim Moss couldn’t get going he shot 1-8 from the field and while scoring just four points. Toledo bows out of the MAC tournament at 20-12 on the season.
