Trojans have a record breaking day

11/9/24 Livonia, MI

The Taylor University Trojans traveled to Livonia, Michigan to face the Madonna Crusaders and came away with not only a 91-28 victory but a school and conference record for most points in a game. Taylor took a 14-0 lead with scores from Nathan Munson and Jameson Chesser before the Crusaders’ Nah’shon Williams jolted for a 51-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 14-6. After that, the route ensued with the Trojans scoring 70 unanswered points to lead 84-6 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Madonna would add a few scores in the final period to make the final point difference of 63. Chesser and Dakota Sonnichsen ran for 120 and 114 yard to lead the visitors to victory. A positive takeaway for Madonna is that Nah’shon Williams set a new school record for rushing yards with 158 on 9 carries with two scores. With the win Taylor improves to 8-2 overall & (3-1) MFSA while Madonna falls to 0-10 (0-4).
