Turnovers fuel the Rockets run past Chippewas

The Toledo (7-3, 4-2 MAC) defense forced Central Michigan’s freshman quarterback Jayden Glasser into four turnovers, two interceptions and two fumbles. One of those interceptions went for a 45-yard pick six by Toledo’s Nasir Bowers in the second quarter. Toledo reeled off 37 consecutive points after Central’s 11 play 62 yard first drive that culminated in a 34-yard field goal. Rocket quarterback Tucker Gleason ran for a team high 66 yards and 2 touchdowns including 30 yard run in the second quarter. Also, he added 123 yards through the air on 13 completions. Senior running back Jacquez Stuart ran for 65 yards on 8 tries to complement Gleason. Defensively the Rockets held Central Michigan to 236 total yards and 5 turnovers while also garnering 5 sacks. Defensive end Anthony Dunn led the way with 3.5 tackles for a loss and Linebacker Dan Bolden had 9 tackles for Toledo. One of the bright spots for Central Michigan (3-7, 1-5 MAC) in the loss was running back Marion Lukes who’s 80 yards rushing topped all for the game.
