Adrian squeezes by Olivet 24-14

On a rain soaked homecoming the Adrian Bulldogs played host to the Olivet Comets winning 24-14 in front of their loyal Alumni and fans. The Comets opened the scoring in the second quarter with freshmen Tronice Hammond’s 2-yard run. The Bulldogs answered back with Jake Kelbert’s pass to Ryan Brumley to tie the game at 7 heading into the half. Early in the third period Olivet’s Charlie Pollard took an interception back 42 yards for the score putting the Comets in the lead 14-7. Adrian would score twice in the quarter on a Jalen Wallace 20-yard reception and Shondel Hardnett’s (16 rushes for 64 yards) 5 yard run to take a 21-14 lead into the 4th quarter. Jack Boike’s 37-yard field goal sealed the game for the Bulldogs with 2:58 remaining. With the win Adrian’s record stays unblemished at 4-0 while Olivet drops to 1-3 on the season.
