Eagles come up short against Zips

1/11/25 Ypsilanti, MI

The Akron Zips used a solid afternoon on the glass (37 total rebounds & 13 offensive) along with forcing 15 turnovers to squeak by Eastern Michigan 61-56 in Ypsilanti. Led by the trio of Emily Hall, Maddie Vejsicky and Zakia Rasheed’s 17,15 and 14 points the Zips held off the Eagles fourth quarter rally.

Eastern Michigan’s Sisi Eleko (17 points & 8 boards) and Amalia Mackenzie (16 points & 2 steals) kept the Eagles in the game but weren’t able to get them over the hump as Eastern outscored Akron by 7 points in the final stanza. The Eagles fall to 1-13 overall (0-4 MAC) while Akron moves to 9-7 (3-1 MAC)
