Toledo’s defense smothers Eastern michigan

The University of Toledo’s women’s basketball team thwarted Tayra Eke’s best effort (17 points & 7 rebounds) and held the Eastern Michigan Women’s team to 24% shooting and just 12.5% from 3-point range in their 48-35 road victory. Sammi Mikonowicz and Emmi Renat led the defensive effort with 4 & 3 steals respectively while the scoring load was shared by Hannah Noveroske and Sophia Wiard with 12 points apiece. Toledo improves to 2-0 in the MAC and 9-3 overall while Eastern Michigan rests at 1-1 in the MAC and 4-8 overall.
